Faith presents her Honors Research Project
Faith presented her Honors Research, titled “Primary Cilia’s Role in the Regulation of Mechanosensitive Klf2 and Klf4 Expression during Endothelial to Mesenchymal Transition”. She is set to graduate in one month! Congrats Faith!

Syndi successfully defends!
Syndi has officially gotten her PhD in Genetics for her project looking into the role of H2Bub1 in heart development. Congratulations Dr. Barish!

Kathryn is Awarded NIH F31
Kathryn scored in the top 10th percentile for her F31 Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award proposal titled “Mechanical and Transcriptional Roles for Primary Cilia during Heart Development”, receiving 3 years of funding from NIH-NHLBI. Congrats!
Lab attends Yale Genetics Retreat 2020
The Genetics Retreat this year was held virtually through zoom. Both Kathryn and Syndi were able to present a flashtalk on their research. Kathryn: “Primary Cilia Mediate Mechanical and Genetic Signals During Heart Valve Formation”, Syndi: “Selective Maintenance of RNF20-complex mediated histone ubiquitination is required for heart development”.
