Lab attends Yale Genetics Retreat 2020
The Genetics Retreat this year was held virtually through zoom. Both Kathryn and Syndi were able to present a flashtalk on their research. Kathryn: “Primary Cilia Mediate Mechanical and Genetic Signals During Heart Valve Formation”, Syndi: “Selective Maintenance of RNF20-complex mediated histone ubiquitination is required for heart development”.
Nick Joins the Lab

Syndi and Kathryn both presented posters (Syndi: ”The RNF20 complex is dynamically regulated during heart development”, Kathryn: ”The role of cilia and shear stress on vasculogenesis”), while Dr. Brueckner gave a short talk in the faculty session.
Kathryn attends FASEB 2019
Kathryn attended a week long conference in Snowmass, CO for FASEB’s The Biology of Cilia and Flagella Conference 2019.
Sveta and Syndi publish in PNAS
Sveta and Syndi have published a paper “Histone H2B monoubiquitination regulates heart development via epigenetic control of cilia motility” in collaboration with the lab of Mustafa Khokha. Congrats!
Isabella and Jake Graduate

Shiaulou Starts his Assistant Professorship
Shiaulou is off to start his own lab as an Assistant Professor at MGH-Harvard, continuing his research in cilia and ciliary signaling in LR patterning. Best of luck!
Kathryn joins the Lab!
Kathryn is coming to Yale from the lab of Alex Schier at Harvard University, where she spent 2 years as a research associate following her graduation from Smith College. Welcome Kathryn!
Syndi is Awarded NSF-GRFP
Syndi has been awarded 3 years of funding from the NIH for the Graduate Research Fellowship Program for her proposal “RNF20 Mediated H2Bub1 Changes in Heart Development”. Congrats Syndi!
